Services
Over time, the finish on furniture begins to dull, scratches accumulate, the old glue disintegrates.
Through repairing and refinishing your furniture, we can restore the beauty of your heirlooms and bring them back to life again.
This vanity had seen better days.
We had to take it apart and re-glue it as most of the joints were compromised after being water damaged.
We sanded it to bare wood, then brought it back to its original color and applied a satin finish.
It was worth the time spent, for the end result was amazing.
We can repair almost any type of furniture, be it old or new, scratched, dented, gouged, stained, broken in pieces or eaten by dogs.
We repair fire and water damaged furniture.
We also can fabricate missing parts and re-veneer your furniture.
We match color and sheen.
If the part has to look old we make it look old.
We even drill worm holes if needed.
Please note, we do NOT do upholstery repairs, only wood repairs.
We can reccomend a good upholsterer.
Quite often we see dressers, tables, nightstands, and other pieces damaged by liquids from nail polish, air freshners, and solvents.
As shown left, this vanity was in a terrible condition with the finish deteriorating badly in several places.
Our client wanted the wood to look darker than before.
After repairing the piece, we achieved the desired color result by mixing a stain that gave it a rich, deep color.
When we refinish a piece of furniture, we first make small repairs like filling cracks and small holes.
This helps to prevent the new finish from cracking in the future.
Then we remove the old finish by hand stripping.
We wash the surface with acetone and sand it smooth before it is ready to be colored.
What defines Antique furniture?
Technically, the Tariff Act of 1930 defined an object as an antique if it were older than 1830, the time when mass production became commonplace.
Then in 1966, the standard of 100 years or older was adopted.
The National Free Trade Act (NAFTA) in 1993 took it one step further to include antique objects that have been repaired or restored provided they obtained their original character.
If the piece has undergone 50% or more changes, then it is no longer considered an antique.
There is nothing better than a clean looking office.
For the fraction of what it would cost to buy new furniture, we can touch up your office furniture on-site and make it look new again.
We also could make your reception area look great again by giving it a facelift.

For this table, the old pedestals were replaced with new stronger ones, and the table top was refinished to match the color of the other conference room furniture.
The end result - a new table for the fraction of the cost.
