Welcome to Timby's Paint & Finish Stripping using the dip and strip method of removing latex paints, old varnishes, milk paint and our specialty "lead" paint from your antique furniture, vintage woodwork, doors, windows, clean metal and so much more, using non-flammable products. We began stripping antiques in 1995 as an avocation. When Tim retired in 2003 from a local steel mill, we moved to our present location and expanded our shop.

We are available Monday through Friday generally from 9:00 AM till 4:30 PM and on Saturdays generally from 9:00 AM till noon. However, please call ahead to make sure we are not out running errands.
Services
The first step uses a chemically hot ingredient that is kept at ambient temperature or 65°F.
This tank uses the same ingredients that are in any thick strip paste one would buy at any local home improvement store except we have it in a concentrated liquid form.
This step addresses varnishes, latex and enamel paint.
The second step uses a chemically cold ingredient that is not available to the do-it-yourselfer, heated to between 100°F and 130°F.
The aim of this process is to remove milk paint, "lead" paint and stains.
Where are you Located?
We are located at 2435 N Lombard St. in Portland, Oregon, in the red warehouse behind the green building.
Is it necessary to de-nail items such as trim, windows, etc?
You should de-nail for easier transport and to avoid damage to other items you are bringing, but if it's difficult for you, we can de-nail for a nominal charge.
Remember to pull the nails through from the back to prevent damage to the faces of the items.
Do you clean hardware?
Yes, cleaning the hardware is included in the price of the items we are stripping when you bring it in with the main piece to be stripped.
