Do you have a piece of furniture that is in need of an update? Maybe an heirloom piece that has seen better days and needs some TLC? Whatever the case may be, if you don't love your furniture pieces in their current state then you've come to the right place! I offer custom furniture refinishing services, which include both painted furniture, and traditional refinishing/restoration.
I received professional services from Sara in refinishing of a traditional round dining table. I thought I could do it myself but I would have never been able to. Sara is amazing and I highly recommend her! She will not let you down and prides herself on perfection that I would not even notice. Beyond proud and completely satisfied with her artisan work.
Wish I had a before picture! Sara has a true artisan approach to furniture restoration, and is highly creative and artistic with her painted pieces. It's clear that she takes pride in her craft.

Services
Hi, I'm Sara Lovell, the owner and artist behind Against The Grain Studio.
I am a proud Charleston native and have lived here most of my life.
I began working with furniture in 2015; it started as a creative outlet and an inexpensive way to furnish my home, then I realized I was pretty good at it and I enjoyed the process of refinishing, repairing, and restoring furniture.
What started as a hobby quickly turned into a necessary side hustle that helped support my son and I through some challenging times.
