Furniture Mission
The Furniture Mission could not function without the support of our large volunteer base. We need help with everything from folding sheets to delivering sofas. Whether you or your organization can only come once, or you can commit to coming every weekend, both ourselves and the families that we serve would be extremely grateful for your help. Churches are key factor into helping us achieve our mission. If you are looking to have your church get involved with the Furniture Mission, whether this is through letting us speak with your congregation, donating resources or volunteering as a group, we would love to connect and help spread God's word and love, together. Children will sleep in a bed tonight because of donations from people like you.

Without those donations, pickups and deliveries stop, and we can't afford to store the furniture that is donated to us. Help us fill the need. In order to make the best use of the limited resources available to us, we rely on referrals from government, church, and community organizations.
Services
Our Mission is to demonstrate the love of Christ by providing those in need with gently used furniture and household items.
A comfortable home provides dignity, security and a better environment in which to raise a family.
With your help, we can continue to collect and distribute gently used furniture to our community free of charge.
Each person who receives furniture is referred by a social service agency, school, church, or hospital.
Prequalifying assures that we are serving those truly in need.
Nearly one in six households in the Sioux Falls area makes less than $20,000 a year, and many of these families are living without even the most basic of furnishings.
The Furniture Mission was able to serve 1600 of these households in 2014 and with your help, can continue to serve the community for years to come.
When you donate to the Furniture Mission, you can be confident that your tax-deductible donation will be truly be changing the life of someone else for the better.
Whether your donation is $5 or $5000, it will make a difference to someone in need.
All recipients of our furniture have been referred to us by other Agencies or Organizations such as the Department of Social Services, Minnehaha County Human Services, Center of Hope, The Community Outreach, Lutheran Social Services, Children's Inn, Churches, Schools, and Hospitals.
For assistance in getting a referral, please contact the 211 Helpline Center.
Faxed referrals are no longer accepted.
2. Clients must sign the The Helpline Network of Care.
All adults need to sign a separate form.
If an adult in the household is not present, please indicate on your referral form.
Many of the efforts of the Furniture Mission rely on volunteer support.
There are many types of volunteer positions available for groups or individuals.
Whether you can offer a couple of hours one weekend, or you can commit to helping on a regular basis, your assistance makes a real difference.
