Services
We're proud to be the 6th generation family-owners of Ruff Furniture.
Our history goes back to the 1840's, when our family opened a general store in the little cotton boom-town of Ridgeway.
Of course, they sold everything then.
From seed to sewing needles to sofas.
If you needed it, they'd have it.
Over time, the general store evolved into a furniture and hardware business.
My father, Walter Ruff, followed his father and grandfather into the business.
Just like him, I've worked here since I was old enough to empty waste baskets.

The typical furniture store experience makes most people dread furniture shopping: poor quality, limited choices, and pushy, overbearing salespeople.
That's not Ruff Furniture.
First, you can't help but relax in Ridgeway.
There's something in the air in our small town that makes you slow down and breathe easier.
Second, that stress-free feeling doesn't end when you walk in the door.
There are no pushy salespeople.
You deal with our family.
We've got as much time as you need and can offer as much assistance as you want in making your decision.

How often do we buy things today that used to be durable goods but are now considered disposable?
Our grandparents and great-grandparents didn't have to replace what they bought so often because it was made to last --- in America.
It's getting harder and harder to find anything made in America these days, but when you do you can depend on its quality.
Furniture is no exception.
Many great brands we used to love and trust are now made overseas.
It's simply a cheaper way of doing business today.
You know cheaper isn't always better, and in the case of furniture the old axiom is still very true: You get what you pay for.
