St. Elizabeth TV & Appliance opened for business in October of 1955 by Victor A Wilde Sr. The first items available for sale were three black and white Motorola televisions, and several small radios.
At that time La Verne was still caring for her 9 children; she managed to balance that with running the business. Her sons Charlie & Victor Wilde took on their roles and were determined to succeed.
