Brothers, Steve and Dwight Abbott started Modern Furniture in January of 2003 in Newport, Vermont.
They both graduated from North Country Union High School in 1991.
Second generation in the furniture business, Steve and Dwight grew up in the industry at an early age.
Right out of high school, Steve purchased The Border Motel and Restaurant which he ran until he sold in 2002.
Dwight however chose to enlist in the United States Air Force for nearly 8 years until 2000.
With their father retiring from the business left an opportunity for Steve and Dwight to start their own furniture store.
