Action Home Furniture opened for business in 1980, originally under the name Action Wood Waterbeds.
In the beginning, owner Marty Gollaher supplied waterbed frames to local dealers from his garage.
One day, without warning, one of Marty's dealers cancelled a huge order that tied up virtually every dime he had.
From there Marty had two choices; quit and go out of business, or become a furniture retailer and sell the frames himself.
He chose to sell those frames and eventually thousands more followed, and so Action Home Furniture was born.
