Gibson Furniture has been family owned and operated in the Gallatin, Hendersonville and Portland areas since 1972. This forty-seven-year history has special meaning for Eddie Gibson, the second-generation owner of this furniture store that places emphasis on quality furnishings at affordable prices and uncompromisable customer service. Jim Gibson first opened the store in 1972, seeing a need for customers to buy locally without having to shop a large commercial franchise.
As a young boy, Eddie would go to work with his dad on Saturdays. During high school and college, he worked at the store during summers. Growing up in the business, Eddie saw firsthand that customers would return time and again when they were given quality customer service and had a selection of name-brand appliances and furniture from which to choose - all backed by a longer warranty.
At the death of his father eight years ago, Eddie took over the business full time. His mother enjoys working one day a week as a sales person, which enables her to keep in touch with long-time customers who have become friends and to meet first-time buyers.
