I am about as small and nimble as a business can be-my store is debt free-my energy costs are minimal and I wear all the hats - that translates into LOW operation costs. I have been working in retail/wholesale furniture since 1978 and even longer when you count working summers and weekends for my Dad during high school.

Hudson's Discount Furniture Company has been in business since 1917 when my grandfather Jones Ednie Hudson opened a general merchandise store in Connelly Springs where he also worked for the railroad as a telegraph operator.
When my dad, Jones Ed Hudson Jr.(Ed Jr.) returned from service in WWII and finished Davidson College he helped my granddad with his business.
In 1952 they bought a building in nearby downtown Hickory, NC to set up as just a furniture and appliance store.
My Mom and Dad shortly thereafter moved to Hickory where we have been ever since.

Tires on a car last a lot longer when rotated - Mattresses last longer when they are made to use both sides - every 6 months you turn it and once a year you flip - two sided mattresses cost a little more to make but last twice as long or longer.
You pay less in the long run but you pay less in the short run too because I discount the prices!
