The Knotty Log's Owner, Brad discovered his passion for woodworking and building furniture after his girlfriend Colleen wanted a spice rack for their kitchen.
Instead of buying one, Brad boldly claimed that he can build one.
During a trip to Colleen's parents, Brad built a spice rack using her father's woodworking tools.
It wasn't pretty, in fact, it was pretty ugly!
However, the process of building the spice rack was the spark that turned into a burning passion for his craft.
Brad grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where he spent his childhood doing weekend projects and traveling to job sites during the summer with his dad who was a carpenter for 40 years.
