In the tradition of old world artistry, we hand pick every piece of wood, cut, plane, and construct with the utmost care.

Hudson Woodworking is a family owned and operated furniture restoration and custom furniture shop run by husband and wife team, Joe and Rebekka Hudson, that serves Northern Virginia and the VA/WV Shenandoah Valley.
Joe is a 4th generation master woodworker and refinisher originally from NEPA.
Rebekka grew up in NOVA with a background in art and design, and elementary special education.
After 7 years in Chantilly, VA we have relocated and expanded our workshop to the beautiful Eastern Panhandle of WV, with an office in Leesburg, VA.

We use a post-cat lacquer, which is the highest quality finish commercially available.
This means we mix and add the catalyst to the finish ourselves, which makes it a lot more durable and water resistant.
We can also adjust for different conditions.
Most furniture manufacturers use a pre-cat lacquer which is mixed at the finish manufacturing plant.
A post-cat lacquer only has a shelf life of a few hours after mixing because of the strength of the catalyst.
Where as a pre-cat lacquer has a shelf life of a few months after opening.
This means we mix and add the catalyst to the finish ourselves, which makes it a lot more durable and water resistant.
