Wood Doctors is based in Jeffersonville, Indiana, 15 minutes from downtown Louisville, Kentucky. We have extensive hands-on experience with all types of wood, leather, and antique furniture. Pieces requiring repair and restoration arrive at our shop from around the world. We specialize in church interior restoration and can revitalize your doors, paneled walls and pews.
Local residential and commercial work includes touch-up and repair of new and old furniture, pianos and other musical instruments, doors and architectural woodwork. Door stripping and custom finishing is our specialty, no one knows doors like we do. We also can provide local onsite services such as wood and leather repair and upholstered furniture repair.

The idea of "WOOD DOCTORS" started in Tucson, Arizona in 1976.
David Erickson Sr. was only 17 years old when he began his journey in furniture restoration and upholstery.
His parents, Alfred and Jeannien, bought and sold antique furniture and needed someone to make the necessary repairs and reupholstering.
So a small shop was set up and furnished and David Erickson Sr. never looked back.
Each repair became an opportunity to learn and expand.
45 years later Wood Doctors is still a family run business.

David and his sons recently repaired a special (to me) rocking chair which had a broken leg and broken rocker.
The repair is almost imperceptible and the way they repaired the rocker was very ingenious.
They were able to use to original wood so that the rocker matched to rest of the chair.
This is the second item which they have repaired/refinished for me and I am very pleased with their work.
