At Purpose and Pine we specialize in creating custom furniture and working with you to create beautiful, functional, one-of-a-kind pieces. We will involve you from start-to-finish - helping you to design your piece, choosing from our inventory of reclaimed and salvaged lumber, recycled and scrap steel, as well as plenty of beetle kill pine. We are committed to saving the earths valuable resources by designing custom, sustainable, and functional home decor.
We regret to inform you that we will be taking a sabbatical from full time furniture production. We have enjoyed every moment and appreciate each client we have interacted with over the last five years, but with recent changes and events our focus must shift to other priorities. We will continue to offer sustainably crafted furniture, but it will be limited to larger tables and lead times will be significantly increased.

My name is Colin and I build things.
I have always enjoyed building things.
Whether it was a bridge in the creek behind our house, a Lego mansion for a pet turtle, or a coffee table with a hidden compartment to hide beer cans from campus watch.
My previous occupation and time in college were wonderful in the fact that they allowed me to travel around the world and see some of the most beautiful places on earth.
Having seen a multitude of earth's wonders I felt I had a calling and a responsibility to do what I could in order to protect and preserve these places, in fact I believe it is everyone's responsibility to help preserve the beautiful planet we live on.

This client had some cedar pass down from his father's furniture business many moons ago and decided it was finally time to put it to use.

A little over 2 years ago this wonderful family called me and said they desperately needed help.
The 250 year old maple tree in their front yard was dying and had to be taken down.
They had seen my work at a local craft show and wanted to see if I could salvage any usable lumber.
3 days later my sawyer and I hauled away 12 logs and milled up almost 100 pieces of recycled goodness.
27 months later, and here are two of those slabs.
