Novello Furniture was opened in 1981 by Edward Polli, a second-generation furniture retailer originally from Bradford, Vermont.
Ed grew up working from the bottom up at A.E. Hale Furniture Company, which was owned by his father, Vincent.
The name Novello was coined by Ed's maternal grandmother, Lucia Leani, of northern Italian decent.
In Italian, Novello means something "new and fresh".
